WORKSHOP ON URBAN AGRICULTURE BY MIGUEL BRAGANZA -5th & 6th November 2011

Earthoholics inaugurated its activities with 4 back to back workshops on Growing Organic Vegetables and herbs on terraces, window grills & balconies. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Miguel Braganza, Convener–South Asia of Intercontinental Network of Organic Farmer's Organizations (www.ifoam.org/inofo) & Secretary of Participatory Gaurantee Systems (PGS) Organic Council, Additional Director of (OFAI) Organic Farmers Association of India, who specially came all the way from Goa. The workshops were held at L.J Education Centre, Dadar West , Mumbai. We had enthusiastic groups of people coming to attend these workshops. In a mere span of 5 days of announcing the workshop we got an amazingly good response of 100 people wanting to register for the workshop but due to the limited seats only 80 could be accommodated. Miguel Sir helped participants with simple and stress free ways of growing veggies at home. He encouraged them to switch to organic products and helped them understand why. He made everyone understand -to grow veggies and fruits naturally we actually have to do nothing, nature does it all. Besides growing at home issues, he also catered to farm problems and gave the farm house owners useful tips which will help them a long way in planning and landscaping.Each Participant took home 4types of seeds and 2 sapplings of chilly and tomato or basil, soil,pots,gloves,seed cups, notes and loads of happy growing information.



WORKSHOP ON GARDENING- BY MR. ASHOK DANDE on 26th JAN 2012

On the 26th January we were blessed with a workshop by Mr Ashok Dande – a self taught landscaper from Taliegao,Panaji, Goa who hass been in the field of landscaping, rock gardening, horticulture and photography for over 60yrs. He has gone fully organic and teaches the art of natural gardening to those who want to learn to work with their hands. He covered interesting topics on gardening like how to keep the soil healthy forever, composting, potting mix for ornamentals, plant propagation, useful tips on fruiting trees, how to make liquid manures, natural remedies on pest attacks. Each participant was showered with interesting information derieved from his profound practical experience which they can treasure and pass on to generations.The participants enjoyed Mr Dande’s company truly as he kept the class lively with his jokes and amazing sense of humour. Each ones testimony and feedback said only one thing that we want more of Mr Dande…!! Here are some of the pics of the workshop held at Antonio D silva School’s Toni Hall, Dadar West.
